Welcome
Keystone Dressage is a performance horse stud based near the iconic Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. Our mission is to breed and produce international quality performance horses for Australian and international equestrian enthusiasts. Our aim is to make international quality horses, training and bloodlines accessible to Australian's and New Zealand riders and breeders.
With a passion for breeding and a love for training young horses, Keystone is uniquely focused on carefully selecting breeds and preparing young horses for their future with complete young horse training from foal to competition horse.
The Keystone breeding ethos is informed by careful attention to the rideabilty of our donor mares and the progeny of international stallions. We "breed to ride" and for this we consider mechanic and trainability equally when selecting stallions for our mares.
Keystone take a holistic approach to breeding and producing horses. Our foal and yearling training is lead by the amazing Lisa Clarke who focuses on teaching foals their ABC's. All foals are taught to halter lead, have their feet done, take wormers, have a rug and load a float. Keystone's onsite team is include riders and grooms from Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. The very talented Lucy Cochrane is Keystone's resident head rider. Keystone's team is coached by Vanessa Way who was trains with Carl Hester and Gareth Hughes. Keystone's competition barn is supported by Equine Acupuncture specialist Shane Williams and EBT therapist Janine Fenwick.
